Isometric Arc

How can I draw an Isometric Arc? I want to draw an arc which should be tangent with both circle and I have e radius of that arc (see my attachment).

Try using the TTR option in CIRCLE. Check this : Drawing Circles Using the TTR and TTT Options

Type C (enter) for CIRCLE
Type TTR (Enter) for Tan Tan Radius
Select 2 Tangent Points on both the circles
Type Radius Value (Enter)

@S.Faris Sir, thank you for your reply. But I am sorry that TTR is not working here. I want to draw this (Please see attachment "Capture_2") and I am standing at this (attachment "Capture_1").

Can you explain why TTR is not working? I have already produced your drawing successfully with TTR. So what is that you are missing there?

I can attach the dwg here, but I want you to understand how it is done. So let me know where you are stuck and I'll guide you.

but why do you want to do it specifically in Isometric view? Any particular reasons?

I did it in Isometric as you can see it below.

Since i'm kind of convinced that you cannot draw it at your end I'll upload the file(But now i am curious about why TTR is acting weird at your end )

@S.Faris sir, I am feeling very sorry, I am asking you for a same (easy) problem again again. I have drawn many things with TTR. But in Isometric view, it is not working. I have tried it a lot but in vain. And it is my assignment to draw this object in isometric view, that is the reason. At the end, I still cannot draw this (In your GIF, it is working but here it is not running). 😞

I believe that there has been some confusion here...

There are typically no circles in an isometric view. An isometric view is a 2D representation of a 3D form or object.

To represent a circular profile in an isometric view you must have ISODRAFT on and use the ELLIPSE>ISOCIRCLE command set. There is no provision for arcs in this command set but we typically create the entire elliptical profile and trim as needed.

If you are trying to achieve an ELLIPSE that is tangent to your 2D circles then isometric language truly confuses the issue. It's an ELLIPSE. You must define the ELLIPSE axis and then you may be able to place the ellipse with a parametric control.

Oops, I see you are just viewing in an Isometric direction and not trying to create an isometric arc!

TTR is best as was recommended!

@beyoungjr Yeah, I just confirmed it from the demo Video he attached. The Viewcube shows that he is still in plan view. Thanks for letting me know what exactly the issue exactly was.

Have you accidentally create the initial circles in a wrong UCS?

I noticed in your video that your were set to a TOP view and 2D woreframe visual style. If you were in a TOP view then you would see the objects as if looking from TOP.

If they are not flat to your UCS the TTR will not work.

Please upload you drawing file so we can check the placement of your initial objects.

Start fresh and create your initial circles in WCS. Then alter your viewpoint ONLY and try the TTR method.

@beyoungjr Sir, Here I have attached two dwg file. The first one (Sample_1), which I am trying to draw now and at the same time I have attached another dwg file (Sample_2) that I have drawn previously, so that I want to show you which method I am following to draw "Sample_1".

OK...

So it is a 2D Isometric drawing you wish to create. The 3D model that you showed earlier led us to believe that you wanted to create that 3D model.

Looking over your attached files I see many errors in size and location.

I will create a screen cast with no audio for you to review. Just know that in order to locate your "isometric fillet" feature you will use ELLIPSE>AXIS,END>ISOLCIRCLE and then you will trim the ELLIPSE to your pattern.

Also, I always recommend creating the flat view first to students so they can use it as a guide. The distance between the center of the model and the center of the "isometric fillet" will be derived from the flat view and you will notice that I use the distance accurately so as not to intruduce rounding errors.

Look for a screencast in 15 or 20 minutes.
