layout page setup and custom title block scaling.

haii,

I have created my own custom title block in A3 paper size(16.5"x11.7") and now it is in DWG format. now i need to use this as a basic template.

In layout 1 if i paste this block it it is not placing in right position, i did page setup in layout 1 as

1.paper size-a3,

2.plot scale 1:1,

3.what to plot - layout,

if i try to scale on X axis then the Y axis doesn't matching. Iam not getting that the page setup's a3 size matches the dotted line of layout or total rectangle box of layout.

Please let me the detail procedure for using custom title block in layout and its scaling procedure, (if possible please guide me with the tutorial video regarding the same topic).

Hi,

please first make sure your plot units matches with the page size format units.

If that does not work then please upload a dwg-file with that layout and the inserted block ... and please let us know which version of AutoCAD you are working with.

thank you for the precious reply sir,

i tried your solution sir but it cant working.

iam using Autocad 2013 version, and here iam uploading the DWG file which enclosed with the project file and title block.

Sorry to hear that.

Looking to your drawing:

Your pagesetup (for Layout 1) shows "ISO A3 (420 x 297mm)"
Your block-size is 408 x 290

So I suggest you need to edit your block to fit to 420 x 297.

But again, I'm not sure which units you want to work as the file units are Inch, the layout-plot units are set to Inch, your paperformat is set to metric Millimeter. Anyway, also paper-format 17" x 11" does not match the format of your title-/border-block

ok sir i'll redraw the same block in metric units as per your guidance. and please confirm me one thing that in layout the a3 paper size means the dotted line area or the whole plane rectangle area?? and why can't the OSNAP work in layout (while placing the copied title block exactly to the dotted line)???

Please find this sketch describing what is what.

It can work, but only be used on geometry.

So if you create a line on your paper you can use osnap to find the endpoints and midpoint of the line.

However neither page border nor printable border is a geometry, it's just visualization on screen.
