Go to modelspace, then on command line invoke SCALE command.

Select 'all' objects that constitute the 'building you just built'. Then ENTER.

For Basepoint, type in 0,0 on command line.

On command line, R enter (You are going to reference your 25-foot line.)

Click first one END of the 25' line, then click opposite END of 25' line. (Use object snaps, you must be precise.)

On command line, type in 25' then ENTER [Don't forget the foot (') sign.]

Verify by measuring the 25' line.

Hello, extremely new and very green.

I have recently received a CAD drawing of a building we just built. I am opening the .dwg file in AutoCad 2019.

I am trying to get the file to scale with the drawing, so for an example I see a line that is 25'-0" when I measure this line it shows 167'- 01/4"?

I am seeking to find how I can get the drawing set up so when I measure the line its 25'-0" as shown?

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you so much. I am getting close but think I may be missing something. I am going to post a screencast of what I am doing so you can see. I have to be missing something...

I really appreciate the help.

By the way, once I set this will it save with the file so I do not have to reset it every time?

Fen

Instead of using the DISTANCE command, can you possibly try either one of these:

Draw a circle. Centerpoint at beginning of 25' line and perimeter of circle at other end of 25' line. This should produce a circle with a 25' radius (50' diameter). Select the circle and verify this in the properties palette.

Use a linear dimension. Create a dim from one vertical grid line to the adjacent vertical grid line. It should be 25'-0".
