Good afternoon Pendean,

Tried what you stated

"The sequence you want:
-XREF command
T for pathType
* when asked to enter xref name
F for FULL (or R for Relative or anything else you want).
<enter> to finish
Test it out on a few of your top files between FULL and RELATIVE and see if anything breaks or not. If you like it you can write the macro based on that info or come back here for help writing it.
Its testing time for you"

Response: Worked for that file did not work for another file opened up 15 minutes later. In essence if the command has to be applied to each file, I might as well go into the Xref window and change the path type to Absolute by highlighting the file. Also if this was a universal command then it should open up the files with the Xref at full path correct?

I think its one of those "wonderful" AutoCAD glitches

Good afternoon

I seem to have a constant problem between working on my laptop and desk top.

By default the X ref path to drawings on our server takes the full/absolute path

By default the Xref path to drawings on my laptop takes the relative path.

It is a complete pain to change it every single time to make "absolute"

Is there a single macro-command where I can always reflect the full path

Why the need to always change it, why not keep it "relative" all the time?

Because we prefer that all files path to our lettered drive. Especially when we have Xrefs that use multiple underlays and we have to substitute them with more recent iterations.

Hi,

>> How do I set Relative path as Default?

>> I am using Autocad LT 2006.

For current systems the system variable is XREFPATHTYPE

But I'm quite sure that in 2006 this variable did not exist/was introduced later.
