Failed to create object. Make sure the object is entered in the system registry

Hi all

I followed the instructions on the link below:

Solution:

To resolve the error, delete the main registry path for AutoCAD and then run a reinstall of the program:

Press WINDOWS-R on the keyboard to bring up the Run window, enter REGEDIT and click OK.
Navigate to the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\Rxx.x
Note: The "Rxx.x" folder can contain registry entries for multiple versions of AutoCAD. If you have more than one AutoCAD of the same release installed, a reinstall will be needed on each.
Delete the "Rxx.x" folder.
Close the Registry Editor and then open Programs and Features.
Double-click AutoCAD and do a reinstall of the program.

Warning!
Problems caused by improperly editing the Windows registry could render your computer operating system unusable. Microsoft provides a wealth of critical information that you need to know about the registry in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Use the Microsoft Registry Editor only at your own risk and only after backing up the registry as outlined for your operating system in the Microsoft article How to back up and restore the registry in Windows and in the related solution How to backup the system registry. Additional information about the registry is also contained in the Help topics in the Microsoft Registry Editor.

As a workaround to the error, it may be possible to create a new OLE object instead of inserting one from a file. When the linked application starts up, copy-paste the content into it and then close the program. As a secondary alternative, attach the file as an external reference instead of embedding it into the drawing with OLE.

As stupid as I am... I ignored the Warning sign and deleted the folder and now my AutoCAD won't start up.... Please help! I have a student version so I am sure how I can re install my program....

Before going for a re-install try Resetting : To Reset the Application to the Default Settings

Thank you for sending that information but unfortunately, the instructions were not clear and I could not do either.... Do you know if it is possible to repair a student version? I may not have permission..

What you mean by, You might not have permission?.

Instruction was

Click on the Windows Start Icon
Type Reset and select the Reset settings to Default.

Which part of this is not clear?

I have done exactly that but not happens after I type in click "Reset Settings to Default" in the windows start

Was the repair successful? did you try opening Autocad after that? What was the result?

It was successful but when I got to open it, a new message comes up -

Ok...I just did that and it still shows the same error message...

Maybe you should update your Autocad : Update Software in Autodesk Account

I had to re-install the software last night. It works like normal now thanks for all your help though 🙂

Now, I have to figure out why I can't insert my excel sheet...

Error message now:

Failed to create object. Make sure the object is entered in the system registry... You wouldn't be able to help me there could you?
