Unfortunately since you have no control over the GIS software your only choice is to control when you receive the dwgs. Why did you set the rotation in drawing_2 that way? If you change it to match drawing_1 then from this point forth your problem is solved. There’s also a way to select a folder where you may store all your GIS dwgs and rotate them all using the same parameters that only works if the rotation parameters are all the same of course

I want to transform or project drawing_1 to match drawing_2. I am able to overlay drawing_1 to drawing_2 using xref method, where i rotate drawing_1 by 180 degrees. See below: Drawing_1 in red, Drawing_2 in blue, red, yellow

However, what I want to do is to change the drawing_1 to match drawing_2, so that I can xref it without using the rotation option. Another method that I used was to bind the drawing after I xref it, but I had to explode as it was added as a block and needs repetition when changes are made to drawing_1. The main point I want this is because i use QGIS to make further analysis and it doesn't have the option to rotate the drawing when I add to it, thus they have to be in the same plane before being added.

Why don’t you do the reverse

Open drawing_1 and reference drawing_2

Now rotate All but drawing_2 to match

Lastly detach drawing_2

Save and close

Now when you open drawing_2 and reference drawing_1 it should match perfectly

Thanks, Paul. I would do that, but I have more than 15 drawings similar to drawing_1. At the office, we use GMS for geological structures and integrate them into the mine designs in AutoCAD. We have a substantial database, so I need a way to change drawing_2 to fit without rotating it to match drawing_1. If you check drawing_2, you'll see it is rotated by 180 degrees. Aligning them in AutoCAD is not an issue, but I encounter problems when using GIS software.
