Fatal error while plotting, please help

Hi everybody!

Every time I try to plot layouts from one drawing I get this message: 'FATAL ERROR: Unhandled acces violation reading 0xffffffff exception at 26fb535h'. It only happens when trying to plot. There is nothing in my model space but 3 dwf files. Before posting here, I searhed for solution and nothing helped.

I work in AutoCAD 2018, windows 10

Update your Autocad : Update Software in Autodesk Account

Also check this : AutoCAD crashes or freezes when saving, closing, or plotting a drawing

I actually managed to fix it, I have no idea how. I tried to batch print it and after that everything fixed itself. I'm totally baffled.

Thank you for your help and I'm sorry for using your forum space 🙂 ..This kinda happens every time I fnally decide to ask for help (it fixes itself)

Good to know that it got fixed.

Hello @Anonymous,

What are the settings on your Page setup dialog box under Printer/Plotter?

Check another PC3 file, try a default type DWG to PDF or AutoCAD PDF then print
Update Printer Drivers

All was well on my end and I couldn't reproduce your error. Using 2018 MEP_Windows 10_DWG to PDF.pc3.

Can you please let us know when exactly does AutoCAD crash

when you start command _PLOT (before the dialog opened)
while you are in the plot-dialog doing some settings (which one)
when you clicked OK in the plot-dialog
while you see the progress window
after the progress window closed

I agree hat you should use an AutoCAD PDF device like "DWG to PDF.pc3" or "AutoCAD PDF (General documentation).pc3" and see if that has issues too.

Hi 🙂

It happened only with this one file. I always choose 'dwg to pdf' as my printer. I'm a long-time autocad user and printing has never been a big deal thing but something I do automatically. I tried everything that crossed my mind hoping to get more information about the problem (changing printers and other specifications in printing sheet) and everything fixed after using 'batch plot' command. After using it, i could even print it in a way I usually do.

It crashed after clicking 'OK'. Progress window never opened.

But, as I already stated before, it "magically" fixed itself.
