joining path arrays and individual lines

I have created a path array and drawn a line connected to the end point of the said path array.

If I drew a contour consisting of individual lines, I can join the individual lines together via command 'join.'

I haven't been able to do the same with lines and path arrays.

I had to 'break(explode)' path arrays and had to join individual lines together.

Is there a convenient way to join path arrays and lines ?

I expect your only options are to put them together into either a BLOCK or a GROUP.

We are using AutoCAD for photolithography and apparently GROUPing lines together is different from 'JOIN' in that Klayout won't read grouping the same way as features that are joined....

Then the answer is: you can't JOIN entities of type ARRAY with entities of type LINE or POLYLINE.

The only option is to explode the ARRAY-object.
