Dear Team,

I tried installing Autodesk PDSU 2015 license from media in one of the machines. I only selected AutoCAD, Inventor and Navisworks Manage.

Though, installation is successful, software is registered too.

And, Inventor and Navisworks are working but I can’t open AutoCAD.

It gives me following error.

Please investigate this and resolve asap.

Regards,

Hi,

did you run "Install" or "Browser Download" from the Autodesk site?

Did you disable antivirus while installing?

Which operating system are you using?

Hi Alfred,

It's a media pendrive I used for installation.

Back in the days, Autodesk used to ship media to their customers, I used the same.

Also, I tried topping up the same with AutoCAD service packs too.

Still no resolution.

Yes, firewall and Antivirus were disabled at that time.

OS is Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit.

Hi,

>> OS is Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit.

Well, AutoCAD 2015 is not supported for Windows 10.

Either use Windows 7 or a newer version of your PDSU.

Even if you get it working now, every single update of Windows 10 may block your installation again.

Thanks Alfred,

Yes, I understand that as per system requirements Windows 10 doesn't support AutoCAD 2015.

But on my another machine its working file.

My organization has 20 AutoCAD 2015 network licenses installed on another server. And their users are having same config workstations, yet no worries to them.

If it is not supported then other users also shall also face the same issue.

Rgds,

Hi,

>> But on my another machine its working file.

Understood, look to windows command WINVER if they are just both Windows 10 or really the same build.

Also, as mentioned, even if it works today, every single Windows update might break your software, which means a lot of lost hours. In case it's a professional environment, where CAD needs to be available any time, I would never do that.

>> If it is not supported then other users also shall also face the same issue.

Not really, a none supported environment means every single driver difference can make it crashing. If you setup Windows 10 today and another one a week later you have a different system. To find the exact difference is close to impossible. You might try to mirror the system partitions to get it work for now (again, with the risk that every single update, os, driver, installation of other software).

Understood Alfred.

Better I shall install 2019 version AutoCAD instead of 2015 or others.

I can't waste any more man-hours with these installations.

Thanks man.
