Linetype Appearance not showing properly

I just copy some linetypes to a new drawing that Im working on it but the fonts are one on top of the others.

I will attached some pictures. Hope someone can help me

we need more details ... would you please attache a drawing sample with that line-type for testing ? also you may need to check your Annotation scale .

The linetype hasn't been created properly.

you will probably find the linetype definition is wrong.

Look in your acadiso.lin file probably located somewhere like

you will probably something like

*SANITARY_LINE2,SEWER line ---SAN---SAN---SAN---SAN
A,12.7,-5.08,["SAN",STANDARD,S=10.54,U=0.0,X=-10.54,Y=-1.27],-6.35

which would give a line looking like yours

instead of something like

*SANITARY_LINE,SEWER line ---SAN---SAN---SAN---SAN
A,12.7,-5.08,["SAN",STANDARD,S=2.54,U=0.0,X=-2.54,Y=-1.27],-6.35

which would give a line without the letters interfering with each other

I have attached a course booklet I wrote in 2007, which explains how linetypes are created

look at page 23 which explains how to set up the text correctly.

Thanks for all the information, is very useful.

But Im using the same lines in other drawings and looks perfect. So I don't understand why not in the one in question.

Hi @Anonymous The linetype definition is using the text style "Standard". Check the height assigned to the standard style with the _style command in the drawing that looks correct and then set that height to the standard style in the drawing it appears incorrect and then regen the drawing.

Have you checked the LTS of your project and the line in question? Looks like your dwg has a LTS of 20 and your specific line has a LTS of 10. Do these match the settings from your other dwg where these line types display correctly?

Hi,

your linetype seems to use text-style "STANDARD", this text-style is set to a text-height <> 0, but for usage in linetypes you need to leave this at 0.

So start command _STYLE, select "STANDARD" on the left side and change it's height to 0

Thanks Alfred, I think I will update my course notes to from 2006 to 2018 as well as adding

in that note about keeping text height on 0 for linetypes, I was totally unaware of that!!
