The solution could be one, or ALL of the following suggestions.

1. Make sure the system variable MEASUREMENT is set to either 0 (for imperial ACAD.lin file) or 1 (for metric ACADISO.lin file), and then use the LINETYPE command to reload the linetypes.

2. The lines in the xref file are either set to "ByEntity" or have a physical LTScale assigned to them other than a value of 1.

3. The linetypes in the drawing sheet file are not loaded and assigned to the XREF layers. That is, the linetype in the xref layer should say "Dashed" instead of "Filename|Dashed" (where "Filename" is the name of the attached XREF)

Hi All,

I am facing a issue,i have the dashed lines in a drawing shown correctly in my key drawing.

However when i xref the key drawing file to layouts file for taking prints, then in the model space of the layout files the key file drawings dashed lines appears as continuous, and so does it appear as continuous line in the layout space

as well.

Kindly suggest any solution.

If you could share the files with us that will help. I would recommend checking your LTSCALE settings and the LTSCALE of the line itself. Also, if the annotation scale in model space of your base file is different than the scale of your drawing file's viewport, the dashes will look different. Set the annotation scale of your base file, model space to match your viewport's scale to see what it will look like. Then you can change your linework by changing the line type as needed.

Hi,

you have to check units in your drawing LTSCALE and INSUNITS and more . >> Click <<

Next time screenshots, please: FULL program screenshots

And if you want fast and perfect help: Upload all needed files (etransmit)

In your case, check LTSCALE and MSLTSCALE

and what imad wrote insunits: better is to check the size by using DIST

Is a line, distance or whatever in the same size (is the xref content not scaled?)

If your pillar is d=60 in key drawing model , is it also d=60 in your layout file model

I would prefer to compare the things with msltscale=0
