Viewport Quick Properties

If I assign Quick Properties to Viewport, this is working only for the regular viewport.

For polygonal or object viewport double click is maximizing the viewport, allowing editing.

Is there any setting to do in order to have Quick Properties for polygonal or object viewports?

Enter the polygonal viewport and set ucsfollow to 0 than return to paper space and set display lock to yes

(now the polygonal viewport act the same as rectangle viewport - yes?!

Hello @w64bit,

Thanks for posting.

I looked into this for you & you can accomplish a non-rectangular Viewport by using the -VPORTS command or using the icon.

Please follow these steps:

Create your desired shape (in this case a ploygon)
Type the "-VPORT" command or click the icon
Select the points along the shape you created then type "C" > "Enter"

The Quick Properties menu is working fine, along with the scaling of the viewport.

You may have a system variable in place?... Try using the SYSVARMONITOR to reset system variables related to scaling & viewports. This tool will monitor system variables reporting when they are changed from their preferred or as-configured value within ACAD.

The Quick Properties (QP) palette appears when you single-click on an element, not double-click. If QP is on (CTRL+SHIFT+P) in the status bar a single click will bring up the QP palette. AutoCAD default for double-clicking any viewport is to maximize the viewport.

I was not and I am not talking about QP on.

1. Draw a polygonal viewport.

2. Assign Quick Properties to double click on viewport.

3. Double click on a viewport.

4. For polygonal viewport the Quick Properties are not displayed, instead viewport is maximized.

That makes more sense, thanks for the clarification. I assume ACAD doesn't quite know what to do with polygonal viewports. When you use LIST on one it shows it is actually 2 elements: LWPOLYLINE and VIEWPORT and they don't have their own element type to add to a double-click action.

I tested this out the drawing provided above worked fine displaying QP & scaling options as I mentioned. I would take a look at the SYSVARMONITOR for systems variables that could be affecting the default functions.
