Getting multiple errors upon saving dwgs, attached are two of the errors when I try to save a drawing or an X Ref.

Hello @Anonymous,

The Write Protection error is a Windows operating system error you will have to go to the file location, select the file & change the protections under Properties. Please review this Microsoft post.

It seems overall the file & locations maybe restricted if you have a IT professional that manages this to make sure nothing has changed or to verify that you have proper permissions to the file locations you need to save to.

Try to recover your file before opening or copy the whole drawing into a new file. It could be your file is corrupted. Thanks

This location does not exist in my registry editor. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies

This happened a while back to my counterpart and I went thru and cleaned up the templates and have tried the suggested methods and that does not work.

You need to engage an IT professional to help you with the posted system-level write-protect issues you are experiencing, if the problem is not the fact you need to set you and your colleagues do not have XREF demand loading set to "enable with copy" and/or "allow others to refedit current file" options.

For the "...objects cannot be saved.." error someone opened your file in some v2018-v2019-v2020 variant and added content you cannot now save in your current AutoCAD to the desired dwg-year-version you wish. You will need to open your file(s) in that newer variant of AutoCAD then "export" to the year-version you need to save to first.

As for the options in CAD are set to "enable with copy", I have admin rights on my machine, however we do not have local IT and most have to remote in. I am currently using AutoCAD 2020.
