I used AutoCAD LT 2010. I would pull up old drawings in it and when you
type Zoom Extents there would be a 5" x 5" image on a 10" x by 10" canvas.
I would type Set Workspace Extents and the workspace would now be to the
extents of the image. I think in AutoCAD 202 the terminology is different.
I hope this makes sense.

I am used to use an old version of AutoCAD where you would type Set Workspace Extents, Save your file and it was all good. In AutoCAD 2020 i have yet to determine the same command. Guess I need to read up.

>"I think in AutoCAD 202 the terminology is different."

The terminology in ACAD 2010 LT also 😉

I don't understand what you searching for, there are no real difference between both version.

(Point of view from 2010 to 2020)

What do you looking for ?

Command ZOOM option EXTENTS ? = DoubleClick on your third mouse key / mouse whell (like in 2010LT?)

MVIEW for creating viewports? (like in 2010LT?)

Scaling factor for viewports? In properties palette it is 'Custom Scale' (like in 2010LT?)

Search for a screenshot of what do you mean, in 2010 and 2020 you don't need to set

Are you thinking of "limits"?

If not, you may have had a 3rd party app.

So there is nothing different between LT and AutOCAD versions: you either are using the wrong terminology, or you are trying to remember something you rarely used again.

WORKSPACE in both versions of AutoCAD that you have touched relate to the screen menus/ pulldowns/ buttons/ commandline that you stare at in the program all day.

Are you looking for LIMMIN and LIMMAX varaibles? explained here http://academics.triton.edu/faculty/fheitzman/limits.html

Or do you need to use a LAYOUT defined with a PAGESETUP, and a VIEWPORT? that might explain your "image on a canvas" description.

Or did you just lose a template file when you moved to 2020 from LT2010?

Or are you trying to set up a tablet an pen?

Maybe it is your Pagesetup like Mr. Pendean talked about.

Example you have your Drawing Border and your "white space" don't seem to cover it all or is way larger then your border?

While in Paper Space type Plot. Set your Paper Size and all the settings you need. Most important before selected OK to Plot is to Select APPLY TO LAYOUT tab. This will Set your drawing's setting to fit or be 1=1 around your drawing border. When you say OK or you can select CANCEL and not plot but your settings will stay.

Does this make your drawing look correct now?

One more tip, when you do select OK to Plot your drawing. When you go into your next drawing or TAB, type Plot and at the top where it says PAGE SETUP NAME: in the drops down select <Previous Plot> then select APPLY TO LAYOUT tab. This will set all the drawing's settings for plotting that you had in the previous plotted drawing or tab.

Hope this helps. If one of the answers solved your issues please be sure to select Solution Accepted.

JRR.
