So after reseraching for 2 days and reading a bunch of forums, correct me if i am wrong, there is no way to convert dwg files to STP format if i am using standard AUTOCAD3d?

Since most of clients in Fluid Power Industry use STP format this is big hassel. What is my solution ?

You need to be using AUTOCAD MECHANICAL for that option https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-mechanical/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/ENU/AutoCAD-Mechanical/files/GUID-5E05EA73-F65A-4239-B07F-89FFBBD5BAAC-htm.html

Hi,

>> no way to convert dwg files to STP format if i am using

>> standard AUTOCAD3d?

There does not exist a product named "AutoCAD3D" ... for Vanilla AutoCAD (AutoCAD without vertical functions) you are correct, you can export to IGES, but not to STEP.

Maybe it's already a help if you export IGES instead? Most products which can import STEP can use IGES too!

You'll need AutoCAD Mechanical to export to STEP (in case you have the AutoCAD license with Toolsets you can download and install this product and use command _STEPOUT).

Do you have access to AutoCAD Mechanical?
