OLE linked MS Word document does not update

I started a new sheet where I took an MS Word document that has 17 pages and copied and pasted special with the linked box checked each page into the AutoCAD drawing. The sheet looks and prints great but the problem I have is that when I use OLE update, the pages do not update. When I click on Open Source, I get the message "Failed to Launch server application". Did I do something wrong? Does this method of linking a multi-page MS Word document work? Does each linked page need to be associated with a single page document instead of a multiple page document. Any help would be appreciated.

My drawing is a new page and the linked document in new and has not been renamed or moved. It is however located across our network on another drive if that matters.

Dean,
We didn't go through any changes or upgrades in our AutoCAD or MS software. The documents haven't been renamed or moved. I tried the suggestion of converting the Word document to PDF and back to Word which didn't work for me. I literally created the CAD drawing with the OLE links a few days ago and experimented with making changes to the Word document later the same day to make sure the links were going the update properly. That's when I discovered that the OLE update function wasn't working. It looks like the word2cad plug-in may be my only option. Thanks.
