Thanks, it worked for question 2

so for question 1, i see you are saying i change the existing lines assigned to a layer, but when i draw a new line, in that layer i must do it again right? is there a way to set it for new lines that you will draw under that layer? or how is the line scale determined for new lines, from somewhere else?

Two questions about linetype scale

question 1) is there a way to set a scale for a layer linetype? I didnt see. If there is not, why not? I mean i have a layer which i draw centerlines with. but the scale of line is sometimes too small sometimes too large. what will i do , every time set scale individually? seems very inefficient

question 2) although i enlarged the scale of my centerline and now in model space i see it clearly, i still see it as a solid line in paperspace and the printed pdf . how can i see the scale of the line displayed properly in paper space and the printed result?

great. it works.

so, then that property window you open with ctrl + 1 is a property window for the current layer you are drawing with? but for other layers too it changed the linetype scale now

Hi,

The property palette shows the property of the current layer, except the linetype scale which is remains the same even when different layer is set to current layer. You need to change the Linetype scale of the next layer which is set as current layer if your require a different scale, but this would not affect the Linetype scale of the lines drawn earlier.

Thanks for the help. I guess that is a feature they can add right? Because setting linetype scale for each layer in layer management menu would be really helpful. I dont know why they do not have such an important feature. How did you overcome this problem yourself? Like this? When you draw with different line scales I mean... Or in your drawings you always use one scale? How experienced people do it? May be I am missing a point....

Hi,

I just the isolate the layer using LAYISO and change the line type scale of single object and use match properties (command "MA") to match other lines. My suggestion is to keep the properties palette docked to the right or left of your monitor so that you would know with what line type scale your drawing and lines and also the property palette will display other properties of the object which will be very handy while working.
