How to insert .xlsx files properly?

When I try to inset a .xlsx file into AutoCAD, a .xlsx file (such as that of a Winds Loads program that is used in Florida for exterior doors and windows, and which contain variable numbers that change as the building is developed and windows and doors are added and changed) the program can be inserted and "linked" as an Ole Object into the AutoCAD model space window. It also can be resized, and also seen in a Viewport in the recipient Paper Space Sheet.

Problem is, the insertion also contains a lot of white space in addition what is seen and needed in the program. What you want to be seen of the program occupies only about 1/4 of what is inserted, and as I resize the entire .xlsx insertion, the unwanted white area which is seen to the right and to be bottom also resizes and stays there in proportion.

Question: How to cut out or "clip" that unwanted white area?

Is there another way to insert the link that would not show that unwanted area?

Thanks in advance,

open your .xls sheet in Excel program then select and mark all cells that you need then Ctrl+C ( Copy ) , get back to AutoCAD and from "Edit"menu, select "Paste Special", Now Select the "Paste Link" button, then select "AutoCAD Entities" under the "As" heading. now AutoCAD automatically generates a Data Link when you use the Paste Special method .

With the missing Menubar on the top it worked, except that I kept hitting "AutoCAD Entities" and I kept getting crashes until I clicked the "Excell…" instead and then it worked with the desired instantaneous links (You might want to correct your answer, and then it will be an "accepted solution"!)

By the way, if the Menubar does not show automatically when the Ribbon shows, I wonder now why there is not an "Edit" in the Ribbon that could be used for these situations? or there is onevious somewhere there that is not obvious?

Thanks for your help?
