Relative path xrefs need to be reloaded every time I open the parent dwg.

I have a file that contains xrefs, all relative paths. Every time it is opened, all xrefs need to be re-pathed, even if a user re-paths, saves, closes, and reopens the file immediately after - from the same location they just worked from/saved to. There are no nested, unresolved xrefs. They have not been deleted, moved, nor renamed. Folder permissions are not an issue. When the users go to batch plot the drawing set, a window pops up stating: " The current drawing was saved to a different location. Do you want to update references with relative paths?"

As xref paths are relative, it should not matter that one user works on this file within our network drive, the other tends to copy the folder to his desktop to work locally and then pastes it back to the shared network folder when finished.

I have not attached the file as it currently contains sensitive info. Hoping a CAD genius may know the answer off the top of their head, but will scrub and post the DWG if absolutely necessary. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi,

can you please start AutoCAD with an empty drawing, start command _ABOUT and show us a screenshot from that dialog? I guess you'll need updates.

Post a screenshot of the expanded XREF palette with a problem file selected, and one where everything is 'fixed', let us see what you see please.
