Hi,

your wall is not a solid, these are 2 objects of type "Region" ... to use _SUBTRACT or _PRESSPULL and get the new object subtracted from an existing object the existing object has to be of type "3D-Solid"

Recreate that wall as 3D-Solid, then all will work well! 😉

Also take care with your wall, there are a lot created as region and as surface, sometimes region AND solids for just one side of the wall, you might run into troubles with that structure.

So, I am trying to cut in the building 2 holes, using presspull command, from a drawn rectangle, adiacent to the wall I want to cut. Do not know why, but it extrudes instead of making a hole I have tried with substract and also tried to use explode (this one removes textures of the extrusion). If anyone can help me would be very appreciated I am struggling for a few hours, but the problem still persists and its very annoying.

Hi,

can you please upload the dwg-file?

I would first check if the polyline is really exact on that wall, I would also try to first set the UCS manually to the wall and then start _PRESSPULL or _EXTRUDE and then using _SUBTRACT.

I had the same problem, when I tried to, resize a wall for the windows to fit, so I did it more barbaric, by exploding all the textures and remaking the whole wall with extrude with, with small extruded lines to fit the window...

No, you should create 3D-Solids for your walls, not surfaces.

Remade the wall from parts, dunno why but if I try with polyline to draw a singer figure and extrude, it doesn't let me, I tried also converting them to 3d objects, still doesn't work... only to surfaces... Do you have any advice how can I do them maybe without splitting them into so many small figures, to create a bigger one, like how can I convert or redraw the wall without using so many small figures to assamble them into a bigger figure?

Hi,

>> converting them to 3d objects,

In your screenshot I can see that your wall is not just one 3D-Solid, but it again contains surfaces:

Also it does not make sense to split a wall into single peaces (as you seem to have according to your screenshot)

Please find this short video to see how to

remove the existing vertical regions

create one wall from the top region (you need then to use _SUBTRACT to open the wall for the doors)

close the polyline you want to make a hole in the wall (it is not closed)

then extrude this polyline

then _SUBTRACT that polyline from the wall
