I changed annomonitor to "-2". This shows disassociated dimensions. As I suspected...They all highlight yellow warning that they are disassociated. So - same as my method. Change back annomonitor to "2" and the warning are not shown.

Sooo...both methods work. Using exportlayout is more straight forward though.

Good Morning,

Is it possible to export or "save as" a Paper Space layout with view ports?

I have a 3d model in model space. We want to remove it so there is only 2d geometry. In paper space the views are placed. The views are dimensioned in Paper Space. Ideally it would be great to have the entire Paper Space info snapped as one 2D collection. The sticking point would be capturing both model and paper space geometry in the layout.

One solution I have come up with - is to activated each view port, save as block...thn import back in as 2d in paperspace. The dimensions stay...but they are no longer associated. This may not matter. This method works, but have to turn off disassociative warnings.

AutoCad 2017

Thanks,

Wayne

Alfred,

NICE. This works!!!

The only odd thing is...when you open the new file there are 2 layouts with not geometry from the original view ports.

BUT..when you look in model space ...its all there.

So I made a new layout and BAM it's all there! Then deleted other oddball layouts.

Thank you so much! This will help folks work on these files now.

Wayne

So...I looked at layers. There were frozen "new vpfreeze" layers. I am a noob Autocad user..not sure why that was used? I redid with layers thawed and it worked great! I get 1 extra layout...but that's no big.

VP-Freeze for a layer means that in the current viewport objects on that layer are not visible.

The "new VP-Freeze" switch means when you create a new viewport in that drawing, should this viewport automatically show that layer or VP-Freeze that layer (and so hide the content of that layer).
