I recently downloaded AutoCad LT and in the Dynamic Input Settings, I always turn off the "Enable Pointer Input" and "Enable Dimension Input where Possible". I am used to these settings permanently saving in my program. Now, every time I open the program I have to go find that setting and turn it off again. Any help would be appreciated- the previous forum I have found that recommend saving the workplace setting doesn't work.

DYNMODE is the variable name, you want the setting of zero if I am not mistaken (look up usage in HELP). It can be toggles on/off by tapping the F10 keyboard key, are you by chance doing that by accident?

Explore adding DYNMODE to the SYSVARMONITOR command pop-up and let AutoCAD/LT notify you when it changes settings, it might reveal when/where and help you track it.

This is a system level variable and it writes to your Windows Registry file: are you on a restricted Windows log-in by chance?

What does ABOUT command list as your LT version?
What is your Windows OS?

@selenaGRXGE - those two toggles in the dialog control the DYNMODE system variable. If you uncheck both of them, that will change DYNMODE to a value of zero (0).

Now you can add DYNMODE to your list of variables to monitor in the SYSVARMONITOR, and if/when the value changes from 0, you will be alerted and know exactly when it was changed.

Hi,

DYNMODE can be toggled on or off by using F12 key.

Also you can add the system variable DYNMODE into SYSVARMONITOR(commmand) and set preferred value(-3). If the value changes then the sysvarmonitor will show balloon notification indicating change in value of the variable, so can click on that and reset the value to the preferred value.

BTW this feature is available on AutoCAD 2017 and above.

Yes- i know know how to toggle it on and off thank you. I just wish that when I open the program- it was off. When I had the full version of AutoCad (I am on LT now)- the setting saved and I did not have to manually turn if off. System variable monitor is a moot point in this case.

Are you in a locked/limited admin rights Windows log-in?
Windoes version is?
LT version is...? ABOUT command will list the info everyone needs to know here.

Setting DYNMODE to -3 (negative three) sticks here for all of us, so you have something else going on if that doesn't work for you.
