When I export to pdf and choose window selection, everything previews correctly but when I open the newly created pdf (or view it immidiately after saving by checking "open in viewer"), I get a weird collection of fragments of the window I selected. See screencast

Start PLOT command instead, has more control than casual "export" does, you want to show us your SHADED VIEWPORT options... .

Started plot command, looked at the settings, didn't change anything and clicked "cancel". I then tried the same method I did in the screen cast and now the resulting pdf file is correct. Not really sure what the problem was.
