SDI doesn't seem to be working, when i change it to 1 or 0, it doesn't seem to make a difference. i want to be able to open multiple drawings in the same AutoCAD session, I was just upgraded to version 2024, it used to work in 2022

Have you installed 2024.1.5 Update yet? ABOUT command in your AutoCAD will confirm what you have installed. If not, get it from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Restart your PC afterwards.

Are you using OPEN command from inside AutoCAD to access all of those DWG files? You'll need to contact Autodesk Support through your accounts page.

Or are you double-clicking in File Manager to do this? If this latter, you need to fix these

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Double-clicking-a-DWG-file-opens-a-new-instance-of-AutoCAD.html#:~:text=Associate%20DWG%20files%20with%20the%20AutoCAD%20DWG%20Launcher

So are you saying that after setting SDI to 0 while still in AutoCAD with a current drawing opened you enter the Open command and select another drawing AutoCAD will automatically close out of the current drawing before opening the new one you just selected?

Hi,

I think you talking about the case you dblclick a .dwg/.dxf file in Win Explorer.

If so, and if you can open multiple drawings by using OPEN command in AutoCAD,

it isn't a SDI thing.

The problem is: Your .dwg/.dxf/.dwr extensions are not linked to the aclaunch.exe

If we right, sesrch for ACLAUNCHER and link your Acad files to open with the aclauncher.exe
