I tried almost everything I've seen online from Forums such as this one to videos and I haven't been able to get it to show correctly for each scale that I assign to the annotative object. I drew it in the Model Space at 1:1 and assigned it the proper scales and then checked those scales in the viewport but the object is so large it wont even show. I know it has something to do with the scale factor but im not sure where im going wrong here.

In modelspace: change CANNOSCALE to 1:1.

run REGENALL command.

Go back to your layout.

Unlock your problem viewport. Write down the viewport scale that it is using.

Set your viewport scale to 1:1.

Set your viewport scale back to what scale it was before.

Lock your viewport.

If your annotative objects still look too large, you'll need to share your DWG file here please for others to examine.

If the text in question is "annotative" (check this in properties) you may need to add the correct scale for the viewport, set the viewport to show annotative objects at current scale only, and regen.

If the text is not annotative, you can either create a new annotative style, or modify the text size in your current style to a size that works for you. See Dean's earlier post for size comparisons.

If you can't get it to work, can you post the file?

I replied to your PM- this is taking quite a while to fix (fortunately, I am not real busy right now...) All of the text (including blocks) all has to be fixed in each layout, so rather time consuming. I may not have it done until tomorrow. The file will be too large to fit thru e-mail, and I don't have google stuff, so I'm not sure how I will get it back to you. It may zip down far enough for g-mail to receive, and I may be able to send it thru yahoo mail.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how to do this "painlessly" and also keeping OP's dwg file private, let us know...

Here is the fixed file, in encrypted zip file. password sent in PM

I think I got all of the notes, dimensions, leaders, etc to "behave correctly"

See link below to explore the properties palette and how it works.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2020/ENU/AutoCAD-Core/files/GUID-0AA644F1-1165-492F-A4D1-3EDA8598C644-htm.html?v=2020&st=properties

Most of them needed annotative scale of 1:1, a few needed 2:1, a very few needed scales to match viewports

in the future, if you are going to format these objects to display correctly in model space at 1:1 scale, and maintain the same display scale in layouts, it would be better to use non-annotative styles, and only create annotative styles when you need them to display at different scales to match viewports.

let me know if all looks good to you.

One question- why would you have so many copies of the same basic model space objects with various other objects added to each for ceiling plans, trim, etc. instead of having only 1 set of walls, doors, etc. and put other objects into the 1 set of basic walls, etc. and control display of other object types with layer display controls by viewport? This would make your file size drop dramatically, and really improve AutoCAD performance. I have had files with 60+ layouts, hundreds of viewports, and file size (and time to switch layouts or otherwise navigate the file) is less than half of what you have.... not to mention the issue of changing many model space groupings every time someone wants a single wall moved or a door swing changed....just a suggestion to explore...

@njlibson wrote:

Can anyone here point me in the right direction as to why my annotative objects appear too large when I look at them in the Viewport?
