I'm sure this has been covered somewhere already, but I can't find it. I am trying to create tool palettes with blocks that I can share with OUTSIDE customers.

Almost every other post about tool palettes I have been reading deals with people sharing info within their own company, which is easy enough since the file location is the same for all, but...

...when I export tool palettes on one machine, then (pretending I'm one of my customers...) re-import them on a different machine, and try dragging the blocks off the palette, I get the message "hey I can't find the block at this location!"

I get it, it makes sense that the program is assuming the block's file is in the exact same file location....so I how do tool palettes get shared from one unique organization to another?? I can't tell my customers to individually update each block on 6 different palettes, that seems pretty amateurish. I have made the changes in the OPTIONS menu under Tool Palette files, etc., but that's not doing anything. What's the workaround here?

Insertion tools of Toolpalettes saves absolut pathes,

So there isn't a way without editing the palette files.

How to:

You can use find&replace in a texteditor.

I wrote a tool for me to do this, but there are no "onboard" features to do this.

XTP is a export package, not the native palette files.

Open your OPTIONS

FILES Tab

you will file the node for Toolpalettes..

Found?

There are one or more pathes

Or just *_toolpalettepath

Open this location in your win explorer, here is the "index catalog" or how do you like to name this.

open the next folder "Palettes" (or? I am not on my PC to check this, sorry)

Inside this folder you fiind *.atc files, these are the palette definitions.

For tests you can open one by EDITOR, bur for search&replace in multiple files, another texteditor is better (search&replace in all files by one step)
