Hi all,

AutoCAD is usually not an issue for me. However when I opened my laptop today some setting has changed. When i move the mouse/cursor it moves compeltely smooth and normal. When i click on the line tool it does not smoothly transition across the grid, but instead it jumps and lags.

Why is this happening and how do i fix it?

Is the problem in the one file, or ALL files?
Do you just need to fully shut down and restart your laptop?

What change with our laptop today? something did, or something at the location of the file did.

Dig a little deeper: sounds like an update or a removed app or a system change is in play, software programs don't just break on their own without external effect.

Assuming the problems are not your files: where do you store them and how does the laptop reach them?

Hi,

I have seen that after an operating system update the graphic card was not recognized any more or is not compatible with the update. First verification for that:

start command _GRAPHICSCONFIG

verify if the correct graphic card is used by AutoCAD

turn off hardware acceleration in that dialog and see if something changes

in the same dialog try the button (bottom) to "Restore Defaults"

Restarting the workstation after these modifications might help too.
