AutoCAD LT2019 Publish to PDF: ERROR:Error

Hello Everyone,
I used to publish files without any problem with both multiple layouts into a single sheet using the "Publish to: PDF" and with each layout into a separate PDF with the "Publish to: Plotter named in page setup".

I am not sure what happened but recently my "Publish to: PDF" stopped working. I have not touched any of the settings and I do not even think the AutoCAD itself had an update (I am prettu sure "Autodesk Desktop App" did at some point but I can't think how that would have had any effect on the fail). It might be worth mentioning that I have tried it with the "multi-sheet file" box both ticked and not.

As attempting to publish files i am getting an "ERROR:Error" which does not help in identifying the problem.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix that?

Hi,

Set the system variable BACKGROUNDPLOT to "0" and then publish.

That helped, but means the plots are done in the foreground which stops me from working during the publishing process and with some of the larger publishes that could mean a significant amount of time, is there some fix that still keeps the publishes in the background?

In that case set it to "2" or "1"

Setting the value to 2 results in the same error.

Setting the value to 1 puts the plot and not publish to the background. - Though weirdly enough the plot does work in the background.

There is always been problem with the background plotting. So I would recommend to keep the background plot off. The background plotting takes more time to publish than foreground plotting.
