topic Adding Default AutoCad Hatches on Imported 3D Model? in AutoCAD Forum

Hi all,

Basically I would like to know how do I add hatches that corresponds to the angles of my drawing like this?

On AutoCAD, basically after I imported my 3D File (from SketchUp), I am not able to add ANY isometric / axonometric hatches that correspond with my 3D drawing's angle.

Good example is adding hatches on a slanting (isometric) roof. The hatches just straightup looks like normal top-view hatches and it just doesnt give me the Isometric angle no matter what angle I slide to on the toolbar.

Secondly, I can almost only hatch on the ground floor (floorplan) only. When I try adding hatches on the sides, or any other side of the model it will give me an error saying that there is no Boundary? So basically stopping me from being able to hatch at all...

I just need my hatches to flow in the correct Isometric / axonometric angle as my drawing. As I dont want a hatch that doesnt correspond to the angle, especially when it is stuff like the roof. I want to achieve a hatch that can match all its faces' angle like this:

Thank you!

Hi,

>> I imported my 3D File (from SketchUp), I am not able to

>> add ANY isometric / axonometric hatches

3D or isometric ... that are 2 totally different things!

For 3D (I assume that as you are referring to SketchUp imports) you can set the UCS to each side of a wall, then us command _HATCH (make sure dynamic UCS is OFF) to create hatches on that plane.

If that does not work, then please let us know which version of AutoCAD you have and upload a small dwg-file with such objects.

Hi, thank you. But I am afraid I didnt get that... Also, I imported the file from Sketchup (which I export it as 3D Model in DWG format). Here is my file. I dont need any special hatch. Just brick hatches along some planes.

Because I want to try if hatches works on the walls or not.

It works for me on the floor plan (flat ground) but any other planes doesnt work at all.

Here is the file:

Thank you for the clear and concise video.

I am quite new in Autocad 3D and I am facing an issue related to the subject of this topic. I would be grateful if you can provide any help.

Is there any way to plot a 3D view of an object containig hatched faces with high resolution? I am plotting from dwg to pdf. When I set hidden as the viewport shade plot, the resolution of the resulting pdf is high, but no hatch is plotted. On the other hand, when I set the viewport's shade plot to realistic, for instance, I get the hatchs in my pdf but the resolution is very low.

Thank you in advance for your help.
