topic Block Rotates During Plotting in AutoCAD Forum

Hi all,

I am having an issue where a block that I have created is rotating vertically 90 degrees when plotted. I am seeing this issue when plotted to a printer and when plotted to a PDF.

It is rotating on the insertion point, and nothing that I have done so far has helped. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Post the DWG file with that problem here, lets see it for ourselves.

Or is the paper just rotating (landscape vs portrait) and you haven't noticed yet?

I know that it isn't the paper rotating, as everything else (including other blocks) were plotting just fine. I was able to find a solution through some googling last night and mostly resolved the problem. I had to go into the block editor and switch the "match orientation to layout" setting from "Yes" to "No".

However, I am now encountering another problem, which is that one of the attributes inside of my block is still rotating, while the rest of the block remains locked in place. I can't find the "match orientation to layout" setting for this attribute, so I'm going to poke around in the block settings and see what I can find.

You could create a duplicate of the text style and enable the annotative option which would also open up the option to make the text match the layout orientation. Set this style for that particular attribute, but it would make the attribute annotative.

Looks like this conversation happened a couple of years ago, so this reply is for anyone looking for an answer that ran across this conversation (like myself).

My delta revision block was rotating whenever I plotted in the Landscape orientation while everything else was at the correct orientation. I ended up having to turn OFF the Match Block Orientation to Layout.

To do that:

Insert tab -> Block Definition panel -> Create Block drop-down -> Create Block

Click Name drop-down list and select the block you need to fix

Under Behavior, un-check Match Block Orientation to Layout

This worked for me. Hopefully it works for anyone else with the same issue
