Autocad 20182.1 severe dwg disortion

Yesterday when I opened a R13 format drawing, all text gone, hiuge squares , lines not straight.

What could cause this sort of disortion cause today we had a second machine with the same problem so the problem is spreading.

if you try QTEXT ( off ) command then Regen , any changes ?

Command: QTEXT
Enter mode [ON/OFF] <ON>: off
Command: RE

also ... QTEXTMODE (System Variable) could fix your issue .

Qtext was off , regen does not help,

Text fiield are squares, some lines disorted other not even block are altered. look at jpeg

The enire drawing is corrupted, all text are square or lwpoliline.

I added qlouds with remarks , without arch plans.

This happened during office hours when I was in a meeting so computer untenanted and when I came back the plan was closed. I could restore the plan from autocad's backup but I want to know what can cause this kind of distortion .

Autocad 2018 IO Hotfix not yet installed.

So I expect that somone could even access the system via a hole in acad.exe , vl/arx and

3 dll's.

If I select all, then ch and then quickselect then the only settings that can selected are:

Multiple, Polyline, Arc,Circle,Block reference so text info seems completely gone.

The rainwater tanks are on layer text which is not correct and just a bunch of polylines , the oval shape is gone. The square tank was a simple 2D so the two lines at bottom right are not possible.

What could cause such drastic changes.

Those are closed polylines, there is no text, never seen AutoCAD do that before. Sure it's not a prank?
Or are you running a 3rd party add-on that has such a weird security feature?

You tell us: so far your post is light on details for a remote assessment.

Our Cad manager says, can happen once a while but this is the first time that I see this in my 35 year career.

Possible cause, network problem, slot connection but I doubt that such thing can cause this, all text to polyine.

It's not an AutOCAD 2018 issue, because I opened your dwg-file with AutoCAD 2013 and it also shows just polylines instead of text. So the drawing is defect (or was converted in some way), but that has nothing to do with AutoCAD 2018.

(or you did not show the original dwg-file)

This drawing is made with autocad 2018 but saved under the R13 format since subcontractors still use older autocad versions.

This is the original file without architecture.

All text are now or LW Polylines squared or lines.

Blocks are exploded and deformed.

I don't believe that a network problem can cause this , damaged dwg's ok but this dwg could be opened as usual.

And funny enough, I was not the only one with this problem, one day later and 60 miles further they had also one dwg heavily deformed but less deformed as this drawing.

The damage happened while I had a meeting of 2 hours. The laptop was in sleep mode when I came back, but that is normal.

R13 ... really?

I would know how to save to R12, but AutoCAD 2018 does not have an option to save in R13 format, how did you do that?

Or are you referring to 2013?

Inside your drawing there are a lot of proxy objects (based on Civil 3D), whenever sending a Civil 3D drawing to someone else who is not working with Civil 3D and/or an older version than you have you should NOT use _SAVEAS, you should use command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD.

Do you have the original file from 2018 so we can try again to save it back and lose the text?

Never let applications open while a system goes into sleep mode, there exist so many devices and drivers that behave differently after wake-up ... sleep mode sounds so well, but only on really clean systems. Even a tiny USB-stick can risk the system (and so your content open in AutoCAD).

On my laptops I disable sleep mode completely.

Sure dwg2013 , autocad 2018 can not save before R14

Not happened afterwards and saving as 2018 format does not fix the problem, the dwg got strangely disorted so autocad can't fix the problem. Civil , strange, the arch doesn't work with autodesk software and neither do I.

When you both don't work with Autodesk software, can you please describe how this drawing was created and based on which template ... also if there might have been imported content from other drawings? ... and which products were involved?

It can, DXF 12 is an option to save to.

DWG not before R14 so even when you use dxf, as soon when saved it's at least R14.

I use autocad 2018 the arch no autodesk program but sure an autocad clone like BricsCad, Zwcad
