I tried a different tack- I plotted to pdf @1,200 DPI, then imported back into AutoCAD as geometry. It looks nice, but the extra polyline vertices may be an issue for your cutting machine. I seem to remember someone writing a lisp to "clean up" a situation like this, but am having no luck finding it...maybe faulty memory.

Hope this helps.

I am designing a sign to be laser cut. I used the ARCTEXT function to get the lettering spaced and correct. Now when I explode the text using the explode function it flips the text upside down. I then went and created a new text style and selected the upside down and backward effect options. When I redrew the ARCTEXT using the new text style and exploded, it kept the letters in the proper direction for the alignment is all jogged and messy looking. Is the a proper solution to this problem? Any help would be great.

Attached are pictures of the steps I took and results, it will only allow 3 attachments so the I cannot load the picture of the skewed letters after the final explode function.

Thanks

Aaron

old style and new style? Can you post a DWG file with both problem and fix in them for us to see what is going on?

Here is the DWG with the original dwg and the steps I took to try and fix the issue. You will see how the letters become all jogged after exploding

You can do it. Using your uploaded samples, use the second example from the left and you'll be able to flip the upside down text to be in the correct orientation.

Select an individual text character. Go to properties palette and change the ROTATION value by ADDING 180. In example below, the current rotation of the number '2' is 184. By adding 180 the result will be 364 and using this new rotation angle, the text will turn right side up. Repeat for each individual character that is upside down..
