Blocks get numbered when converted from dgn to dwg

I've created several cells using Microstation. They are called " boom". After that I have exported the drawing from dgn to dwg.

When the drawing is exported the blocks (cells in Microstation) are numbered consecutively, so "select similar" doesn't help when trying to operate on them. As an example, the blocks are named " Boom_1", "Boom_2", "Boom_3", etc.

For example I've added the dwg.

Does anybody have a solution for me? Thanks in advance.

You can type in the command "SELECTSIMILAR" and then click on the "settings" from command line and uncheck "name" from the settings. Doing so all the blocks will be selected.

Hi,

cells in Microstation are not exactly matching (as definition) with blocks in AutoCAD.

That's why they get different blocknames. The critical part is that if 2 cells with the same name "BOOM" having different properties you can't do this with the same block-definition in AutoCAD.

If it's a one-time job you can upload your full drawing, let me know which block-names have to be reduced to one (removing the counter in the blockname) and I can convert it for you.

But take care ... these blocks are then all reduced to one blockdefinition and do not show the differences they might have had in the DGN file previously.

You can try MBLOCKREPLACE.

Use wildcard in block name to select these blocks.
