I have many a number of flatshots with the settings being "Obscured Lines: Show" deselected and "Include Tangential Lines" selected.

This time, I need to capture the interior of the object also for somewhat of an X-Ray like view. So this time, I am creating the flatshot with both options selected. The Flatshot is being created just fine and looks exactly like I need it to, but when I try to copy (ctrl-C) the flatshot into my client drawings DWG file, I am getting an Autocad Message "Copy to Clipboard Failed". I have never had this problem when I had only the "Include Tangential Lines" option selected. I tested the flip side, and found that when I only have "Obscured Lines: Show" selected, I also get the same error. So the only option that is working for being able to copy and paste my flatshot into another DWG file is "Include Tangential Lines" by itself.

Since I need to show the obscured lines for this project, and need to be able to copy the flatshot into my working DWG file, how to I solve the error?

i suggest to do :

RECOVER your drawing before copy and paste .

AUDIT your drawing .

-PURGE (Regapps ) your drawing .

any changes now ?

Ok...so I came in to work today and the flatshots aren't triggering the copy to clipboard error this time.

Autocad did indicate that it had run a recovery program on my file, but I am pretty sure I had tried to copy the flatshots again after that...So question resolved if not quite clear on exactly how... 🙂
