Hi,

The lines in the drawing are elevated at some height, due to which you are not able to fillet them. See the screenshot of the drawing from right side view you can see lines are elevated. I guess the z value is very minute so you are not able to fillet them and z-value is shown as zero and I could see the lines to be elevated when I zoomed in very extensively.

Correct me if I am wrong on this.

You could fix the drawing by flattening the drawing by using FLATTEN command.

Hello,

I have a drawing I cannot fillet lines due to them being non-coplanar. I am fully aware they need to all be in the z axis to fillet and they are as best as I can see. I did have an xref in the drawing which I checked and it was flat as well. Just to check I took the xref out of the drawing and still cannot fillet. Strange one. Anyone else seen this problem? I am fairly sure the drawing originally provided with was not done in ACAD but instead converted.

I've attached the drawing. The problem lines are in red.

I vaguely recall this happening before but I worked around it. Now it's a nuisance. Any help or understanding would be much appreciated.

I can't find the red lines you asked, but if there is a zero length line then you can't fillet them.

The 'red lines' are on the xref that you did not attach judging by the preview: go into the XREF file (not this top file) to fix those red lines.

Sorry, yes, the red lines in the drawings would help! Not sure what happened there. Apologies. We are also having problem with snapping to intersections. And it seems to be happening to others in the office on different projects so I very much would like to solve this if possible.

Wow, OK, once zoomed in completely they are slightly off the z. Strange as the properties box has them as zero for the z axis.

I'm using 2020 LT. Is the a macro for flatten in this version? Or a way in the properties box to flatten?

Hi,

AutoCAD LT does not offer the Express tools, so you don't get FLATTEN command on AutoCAD LT. But still you could flatten the drawing in AutoCAD LT also without any macro. See my screencast shared.

I have added Z value to one element and then selected all the elements and then changed the z-value of all the elements from properties.

You may need to set the z value to something other than 0 first before the "new" 0 will get set.

>>>..Strange as the properties box has them as zero for the z axis...<<<

That's because you did not set your file to show you a higher precision level.

Start UNITS command in your file in 2020LT, click on the two PRECISION pulldowns and select the bottom most options.
Bet you now PROPERTIES shows how how much your Z settings are off by.

Looks like @vinodlk provided you with an excellent solution that works in LT.

For future reference AutoCADLT has a dedicated forum over here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt/ct-p/2000

HTH

I found even with the units set to the max; "0" was still on the screen at the start and end of "Z" so I just changed the amount to "0" and it worked for me; would be easier than resetting the units all the time.
