I am sorry if this type of question is not allowed. It is more about drafting than AutoCAD.

Is there any official standard for hatch patterns? How can I find it? For example, plywood, MDF, types of metal, etc.

Thank you!

This is a public forum, any questions about AutoCAD are welcome.

I dont know if there is an official standard, I do know that some industries have specified standards that they use for various items. AIA has a pretty extensive set of standards for architectural drawings. I'm not sure if there is something out there in the Civil world that I work in, but our company does our own thing.

The patterns that come with AutoCAD are just a base set of patterns, there are many places that you can go to find additional libraries of patterns.

An additional resource to the ones posted in the responses already, may help you find more 'CAD stuff' including hatches....

You can find a bunch of free hatch patterns here https://www.cadforum.cz/catalog_en/?q=hatch as well as about 15,000 other CAD blocks, etc. You will need to create a free account however to download any content. If you do use this resource, ensure that you fully test whatever you download to ensure that it does not negatively impact your current drawing. As a suggestion, test in a brand new drawing to ensure the output is as desired, and to adjust to the required CAD standards, etc.

I appreciate everybody! Although, I am not looking for hatch patterns, I was more into knowing if there is an "official" standard to represent each type of material. It is more a drafting question than Autocad itself. Thank you all!
