Hey Guys,

So I attached a coordination model into autocad 2018 but I'd like to edit it.

Reason being the model is pretty huge and detailed and working with it freezes my system.

Is there any way I can trim out the excess and just keep the piece of the model I want to work with? My plan is to route some piping in 3d and ensure it fits up into the existing plant.

Much thanks.

"attach" implies the content exist in a separate DWG file: is that what you meant?

Or do you need to EXPLODE whatever you did with that object to get inside of it to remove content you don't want?

Coordination model, as in a Navisworks NWD or NWC file? Those cannot be edited like CAD files. Assuming this was an overall project model, you'd have to go back to the source and get them to generate a new file limited to the models you need to work with.

Open the NWD

Hide all unwanted objects

Export to DWF

Open the DWF and save it as an NWD
