I don't think that there is a base command in AutoCAD? What I do, I will pick a base point in the intersection point of two Gridline vertical and horizontal of the a drawing plan and move them to basement 0,0. So you will do the same for all your plans. So once you xref them to another drawing just type 0,0 insertion point and all of them will be in the same locations, you can rotate them using the same 0,0 basepoint. thanks

Base command with a twist

Hello to all,
I sometimes use the "base" command when xrefing a file to change it's insertion point. What I want to know is whether Autocad has a command to couple rotation with the "base" command. So when I xref a drawing I can get that drawing inserted into the right position and rotated with the correct angle I need. I know there are ways around to get the same thing done or I can use the xref dialog to do the same thing. I simply want to know is there a command to couple "base" command with a rotation around the insertion point when xref. Thank you

Hi ennujozlagam,

Thanks for your tip. As I said there are ways around to do it. I just wanted to see whether there is a proper command for it. "base" is a proper AutoCAD command. You can assign a coordinate which you want your insertion point to be. That is x,y,z. I couldn't find a command to include an angle. May be there is none.
