Why does my view zoom out to blank screen when i use view cube?

Good Morning everyone,

When I use the view cube to rotate around a 3d solid part in an assembly immediately my view target changes, and everything disappears to some random area in the extents of the drawing. Is there any way to prevent this. it really makes it hard to work. "I would like my view to rotate around the selected object and not zoom out somewhere weird."

Why does my view zoom out to some strange location in the drawings when i use view cube to change view. waa laa blank screen everything is gone. This is a new thing i figured out lol. Sorry for being long winded.

Do you have something floating way out is space?

Does the same thing happen when using zoom extents?

Nope nothing in extents. zoom extents zooms to extents of entities in drawing as it should. but the moment i touch the view cube it zooms to a blank screen, very frustrating.

I don't know what you mean by "touch" the view cube, that's not a very technically correct term. But perhaps your home view is set to someplace off to the side or zoomed way into a tiny spot. Right click on the Home icon of the view cube and do "Set current view as Home".

He explains it in "technical" terms in the first post.

"Touch" is commonly used to mean "Do anything to it."

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for responding. The fix was resetting all the defaults on the cube then i could touch it lol. A touch to much it seems. I should of said when ever i utilized the the view cube in anyway whatsoever. I keep learning thanks guys for all the help.

(to reset: right click the cube and pick view cube settings and on bottom left is restore button)
