AutoCAD standard hatch file location/removal

Hi,

We are trying to revise our office standards, including updating our hatch library. There are a number of standard AutoCAD hatch patterns that aren't useful for us, and we would like to remove. However, I've looked in the Support File Search Path and Working Support File Search Path folders listed in the Options > Files tree, and can't find them. Are they hidden somewhere else that I need to look? Thank you!

Are they in acad.pat or in the template drawing?

I think I got it to work now. I think there was a redundant copy of acad.pat, so when I tried to remove one it still read the other maybe.

Is there a way to extract any of the standard hatches and keep them, but not others? In other words to break the acad.pat file out into individual files per hatch? Or to remove the gradients (which didn't go away even when I removed all instances of the acad.pat file, which did take care of the real hatches)? Thanks again

You can open, save-as, edit, save, etc. the .pat files as desired using notepad (or other text editor) You may need to run it as admin. As a side-note, you can change linetype and other "definition" files in the same fashion.
