Hi. I have seen this error for two weeks. My work is not going completely. Just AutoCAD shows up error suddenly and closing. When I re-open it, my last works have been gone. So i have to save my works frequently. And I can say that error shows up when I use the "pan".

start command _GRAPHICSCONFIG and show a screenshot from this dialog (as you wrote AutoCAD crashes when you use PAN, it might be graphic card or -driver dependent.

screenshot of command _ABOUT is missing.

Your nVidia driver is quite old, you might update the driver (but take care, not the last version as this seems to create other issues looking like memory defects)

Did you try AutoCAD after installing update 2018.1.2 and BEFORE updating the driver?

Can you try this:

use keys <WINDOWS><R> to get the Windows command-line
copy this content into the command-line:
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2018\acad.exe" /nohardware
...does AutoCAD now start?

If not, can you reset the AutoCAD profile using these steps >>>click<<< ... better?

Hi, yes I tried AutoCAD after installing update 2018.1.2 and still had the problem, then updated the driver but nothing changed. And, I copied that content into the Windows command-line and AutoCAD started.

Well, good news, this identifies your graphic card or graphic card driver as the source of the issue.

The parameter /nohardware means that AutoCAD runs the display in an emulated mode and does use hardware-acceleration from the graphic card.

Which graphic card do you have and which driver?

Hi,

is it the only graphic card in your system or does it have an Intel HD too?

I have a GTX1070 with driver 441.41 and this driver works very well for me. Maybe it help if you download the older version, uninstall the current one and install the older release.

Hi, I don't have Intel HD. By the way, my notebook has i5 processor. Maybe AutoCAD 2018 version is too much for my computer's system, could it be? (I don't understand computer systems too much, it's just a guess.) By the way thanks a lot for your answers. 🙂

At least it has nothing to do with the exception while starting AutoCAD as you have found out that AutoCAD starts well when not using hardware acceleration. It's a graphic card driver issue, nothing else.

When you work and the system slows down, then the project sizes or geometry types might be more complex than your system can handle, but this has nothing to do with the start errors you currently have.

Hi, I think I couldn't explain the problem clearly. I can open my project in AutoCAD normally. I work a little on my project, than "pan" starts to move slower. And while I am using "pan" AutoCAD closes suddenly and an error text shows up. After that when I re-open the project, my last unsaved works have been gone. I see only the last saved version of my project. So I have to do again same steps all the time. And this problem shows up very often.

My project is a little heavy. When I open a new page on AutoCAD, "pan" works normally and no error shows up.

How much memory does your system have and how much memory does AutoCAD use (in the Windows taskmanager)?

And when you have hardware acceleration disabled ... you don't have issues? No crash, no performance issue?
