AutoCAD 2021 Extend/Trim tool Missing USEFUL feature!?

In the recent update (2021), AutoCAD changed the TRIM and EXTEND tools by adding a quick-mode. Which would be a very useful feature if the following issue could be please solved:

The Quick-mode does not extend or trim to imaginary lines projected from normal lines. In the old standard mode, which can still be used, there is a system variable EDGEMODE, which when set to 1, allows trimming and extending to imaginary lines. This system variable DOES NOT work in these quick modes.

For example please see the attached screenshot. In Quick-mode, the extend tool can’t extend the blue line to the red line, but the green line can extend to the red line. However, in standard mode, with EDGEMODE=1, the extend tool can extend the blue line to the red line.

Can this very handy feature that works on standard mode be made to work in quick-mode?

Thank you for your question, the EDGEMODE setting currently only works with the Standard mode, but I agree that would be a great feature. I encourage you to submit your idea, you can do so from this link: Product Feedback
