Fatal errors every five minutes in AutoCAD 2021

As usual, a Microsoft update two days ago now causes a fatal error every five minutes in 2021. Now 2021 is completely non-functioning. I cannot do any work.

It is 2020, and this happens every time there is an update. It is 2020 and probes orbit Mars, but this happens to AutoCad every time there is a Microsoft update.

Of course there is no human to speak to.

It doesn't happen to most people or this forum would be flooded with posts complaining about it.

Your best bet to finding out what is causing your issue is to ask about it in this forum.

Otherwise...

Dig deeper, find out what got updated: 2021 running just fine here all week, no issues at all, Win10Pro v1903 here.

Windows Icon + I on your keyboard then select View Update History, look at Windows updates as well as Driver Updates and "other" Updates section, explore and if needed remove to test and confirm.

Then review updates or changes to all running apps you have, like AntiVirus etc.

Just so you know, I am a landscape architect that is not a tech wizard that can do all the things that other people do to get their AutoCAD to work. I stupidly assume that when updates are put out, the other programs will work usually with minimal glitches, not complete failures.

I rolled back the Microsoft update to 18393.900, now no ribbon exists and when I try to update i get the error below. I do not have the expertise to dig very deep into why my AutoCAD does not function, all I know is I have a eight month old Surface Studio that handled AutoCAD perfectly , but now does not and I have clients breathing down my neck.

By the way, the 17,000 dollars I have spent on AutoCAD should get me some help that can get me back on line again, despite Microsoft or not.

Autodesk and/or Microsoft cannot account for every possible configuration and sometimes updates can cause issues but your case is extreme and probably requires quality local support. It's obviously something on your end. It's your equipment, your installations. There is something on your end causing these things.

A blind guess is antivirus or computer maintenance software that is not configured properly for use with Autodesk products. Sometimes extreme issues like this require extreme measures. It might be easier to start fresh and reformat and installing just enough to get yourself up and running. If that is out of your comfort range, get some help and don't be afraid to pay for it.

Pay for it? I see, I have to pay for something that Autodesk caused. That's pretty good. I also love how I am paying full freight on a product while students get it at bargain basement prices, and support. But I have to pay to get it fixed.

It's highly doubtful that Autodesk targeted your computer and caused your local issues.

I spend my time as an AutoCAD tech instead of doing my work. It is a never-ending garbage parade of issues with text editing crashing the program, Graphic card issues, stalling performance, and a myriad of other issues. I spend more time trying to solve problems with this dumpster fire 2023 that being a landscape architect.

If it is really that regular, I would suspect anything which happens regularly - AutoSave (check SAVETIME) in AutoCAD, or some Windows event occurring regularly.
