How to create an uneven, 3D brick in AutoCAD

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to create a simple model of a pizza oven and the first thing I'm trying to do is to simply create 1 brick shaped object that I can move like a box.

The brick isn't even , its 230 in height, 115 width and then 64 depth on one side and 55 on the other, see image bellow

Hi,

draw the elevation of your model shape then you can EXTRUDE or PRESSPULL it ( 230) .

Thank you, I should have mentioned i'm a complete novice and I have no idea how you did that shape.

I tried with the lines but how one I do the 64 depth part and I need do the the 230 line, it needs to be in an angle for the 55 on the other side and I have no idea how to calculate that or if that even the correct thing to do

draw a rectangle 115,65 then take from one side both corners a 4.5 to become 55 . now Extrude your shape 230 .

I managed to create that shape, but why isn't it acting as a box? it's still a wireframe and when I change the view to realistic it disappears

, what did I miss?

i think that you should have a polyline 2d shape . if NOT you can try PRESSPULL command then pick inside your shape .

I would guess that you did one of these:

1) Drew the shape as four Lines;

2) Drew it as a Polyline, but took the end back to the beginning so that the Polyline is not "closed" under AutoCAD's meaning of the word.

Draw the shape as a Polyline, but for the closing segment, use the Close option, rather than picking again at the start point. Then Extrude it.

I think I got one to work , It's not working exactly as a box but I think I can manage with it. thanks.

You mix AEC objects (from Autodesk Architecture) with core AutoCAD objects (Solids). That's not a good idea and you will run into a lot of problems (as long as you don't really know what you're doing).

I don't exactly know what I'm doing, but I think if I'm converting it to Mass Element if works better, hopefully that would be fine, I don't need to do a lot.

Can someone tell me why when I select a bunch of 3d solids and convert them to mass element they also unite together? is that something I can undo? I tried ungrouping they they don't seem to be in a group

If you are working with Autodesk Architecture you should ask in the >>appropriate forum<<.
