AutoCAD 2019 vs 2020

I'm posting this to gain some user feedback for AutoCAD 2019 and 2020. At my place of employment, we are looking to upgrade to a newer version of AutoCAD. We cannot upgrade to the latest version as there are other third-party applications that we rely on which do not support AutoCAD 2021. Stability is our biggest concern. So my questions to you are:

Which version would you deem to be more stable over the other?
If you had a choice, not only based on stability, which of the two do you prefer and why?

You will NOT miss a lot if you can not have the latest version!!! there is no really differences .

We run everything from 2013 to 2020 here at my job... yeah, it get's to be a real grab bag sometimes. (Imagine me trying to support all of it)

I like 2020 more than 2018. I only saw marginal improvements worth my time with 2019. The real interesting part of 2019 was the user interface that for some people, inexplicably, started with essentially no ribbon to speak of and a real minimalist view. For other people it showed barely more than a visual upgrade. It was weird.

That being said... there seems to be some sort of iterative version issues with the latest versions of AutoCAD. There seems to be real changes in the latest software that doesn't play nice with older versions. (And no this isn't related to my current problem in another thread) What interesting is that the AECTOACAD cmd seems to retain that a file came from a newer version of ACAD. Even if it is saved down afterwards. This starts to be an issue for one seat we have that runs on 2015 (and earlier) as they can no longer work on those files.

It's kinda getting really interesting really quick. As my office is moving more and more to subscriptions, it likely won't be a big deal for long.

I believe that we have had similar issues with AEC proxy objects being nested in drawing files and often increasing the file sizes significantly.

Either use the correct variant of AutoCAD (free with paid subscriptions except for Civil3D) so those become native objects
OR
process your "foreign" DWG files with DWGCONVERT command to truly knock them down to plain AutoCAD level.

I just switched full time to R2021 🙂
