Plain AutoCAD? That's just 2D drafting on paper with pencils and a T-bar, on a computer, for mechanical engineering.

You want to look at the correct variant if the intent is for these students to have careers afterward with this old software, its called AutoCAD MECHANICAL https://www.autodesk.com/products/autocad/included-toolsets/autocad-mechanical

If they want a better longer career future, they need to be learning these instead if you want to stay with Autodesk:
