I personally don't use the Start tab. It's useless. It can be permanently turned off with the STARTMODE system variable by setting it to be 0. That won't help, of course, if you use the Start Tab.

But, you'd be the first person I've met since it came out that did.

When I start the application, it opens to the Start tab and almost immediately freezes. If I open a drawing directly, it does just fine, but if proceed to change to the Start tab with drawings open, it will freeze again. I changed the system variable STARTUP to <1> which allowed me to skip the Start tab and open drawings, but subsequently switching to the Start tab will freeze it again. For what it's worth, Task Manager says it is still using about a quarter of my CPU capacity while frozen.

This is happening after moving a lot of databases and libraries to our company server. And just when I thought everything was finally working >_< Is there a log file or something I can post here that will give me a clue as to what's happening?

I have a similar problem with Civil 3D 2023 2.1. The difference is that it works fine as long as I don't leave it and sitting idle longer than 10 minutes. I have a hunch it has something to do with AUTOSAVE in open drawing(s). I DO find it useful where I can pin drawings to the list and see my history (albeit if it crashes, I lose all said history since the last close). There's other things I'd like to see it do (like filter file names with wildcards, sort by name/type/date ), but it seems to be something they threw in as something they planned to expand on later and never came back to it. On the other hand, any "improvements" would probably just result in more bloated code and hidden dragon eggs waiting to be hatched on unsuspecting users. </sarcasm>
