I'm thinking that the insertion points of your custom line reference might be the issue here.

Good afternoon

I have a question regarding Autocad Electrical version 2021.

I am having difficulty with line references and wire numbers. I have created my own hexagons for line numbers with the page numbers on the 1st line and the line number on the 2nd line. But for some reason my line numbers are off by one and the cross referencing doesn’t seem to recognize them as well. Currently I am having to manually insert the cross reference numbers is there any way to do this automatically. Keep in mind that I have tried changing different settings from the help menu but nothing seems to work. I am fairly new to electrical I have been stuck in the 2d autocad world for doing schematics.

***THE POST TITLE HAS BEEN EDITED FOR CLARITY***

Here are a couple of the drawing files as you can see in the one drawing i had to manually crossreference everything very time consuming

The 225 drawing was blank - nothing in it.

As for the other one, I can't find anything wrong with it.

If your wire numbers are off by 1 from what you want, then this is due to the insertion point of the line number in your ladder block. The wires and components will look at the location of the insertion point, not the value of the number itself or its physical location in the ladder - only the insertion point matters.
