DSUB Panel Connector Drawing

I want to create a wire harness drawing using a DSUB connector. I have a native AutoCAD DB9 drawing. I used symbol builder to add the attributes, but when I insert it into a drawing the ADD CONNECTOR PINS command doesn't work. I want to be able to add the pins, so my BOM is correct. I have attached the drawing.

What am I missing? TIA for any guidance.

Are you looking to add the part numbers for the pins in the plug, so that the BOM is correct?

That is part of the MFG/CAT/ASSYCODE attributes (or most likely multi-cat in your case).

How would that work? I thought if I added pins to the connector as child components then the contacts would appear on the BOM. Otherwise, why even have the Add Pins as an option?

You should be able to add the pins as child objects. Make sure you add the MFG/CAT attributes so that they can hold the part number for the pins.

The Add Pins command is maybe not what you think it is. It's there to add pins/connection points in your plugs, so that a wire can be connected.
