topic Having child component have parent's pin numbers in AutoCAD Electrical Forum

Hello,

I am currently making a custom icons to represent cards that could go into a device. I currently have a parent card with all the necessary pin numbers assigned. I now want to create a child component that when linked to that parent will have the same pin numbers be assigned. When I try this the XREF will update but the pin list for the child component remains blank. I believe it might be because I didn't assign an attribute right in the parent or the child icon.

What attribute do I need to assign and what value do I give that attribute on both the parent and child component to have the child have the same pins as the parent.

Thank you

Do you want to use the same pin numbers for both symbols, and also be able to connect a wire to both?

Some screenshots will be better for us to better understand what you're trying to achieve.
